E-bay introduced cups and spoons into our lives, we now measure almost everything with these units. However, if you are rather used to gramms and milliliters, it can be hard to judge the recipes.

Measure cups

Luckily we have a good old book with conversions, so here is a little help to for our measuerements:

1 pinch = 1/16 teaspoon
1 teaspoon = 1/3 tablespoon or 5 ml
1 tablespoon = 15 ml
1 cup = 16 tablespoons or 237 ml
1 handful = 3 tablespoons or 45 ml
1 bunch = a little more than 1 handful :)

The weight can vary according to the different materials but here are the estimations in gramms:

1 cup of butter ~ 227 g
1 cup of flour ~ 128 g
1 cup of granulated sugar ~ 201 g
1 cup of uncooked rice ~ 190 g
1 cup of chopped fruit&veggies ~ 140 g
1 cup of nuts ~ 150 g
1 cup of grated cheese ~ 90 g

We hope the above will already give you a better idea. Still not sure? Then use one of the online calculators.
